About 600 Square Meters In Between
The Russian dacha – a space in-between. Neither town, nor country. Located around the perimeter of big cities, the dacha goes beyond being a dwelling or summer house. With its informal atmosphere, it is a mentality, existing since the 17th century. Often overlooked, but rich on cultural and social importance throughout Russian history. Mostly build on 600 square meters of land, the physical appearance of the dacha may vary, but there is a common sense in the emotional and corporal experience, a dacha-State-Of-Mind one could say. This is a journey to the dacha of my childhood and its people.
